First Ponytail & Other Weekend Fun

So as you all have seen, the girls hair is out of control. I'm afraid to cut it in fear that it will look like the "Peppermint Patty" cut (as Rob calls it) that my mom gave me when I was little - kind of squared off bangs and boxy. So I'm experimenting with different clips, bows, barettes. And this weekend was our first attempt at a ponytail. Caroline was the only one that would sit still enough to allow me to do this, so you won't see Miss Olivia with one here as she was NOT having it.

hee hee.. she looks like a little sumo wrestler.
The girls donning their most appropriate
"Stop Copying Me" onesies.

And a video:
Another video daddy took:
And I had to get a picture of this - they are always sitting in this position. Doesn't it look like it hurts??

And Caroline giving a funny face

Oh yah! And after 10.5 months of making mom hold the bottles at EVERY feeding, they FINALLY agreed to hold it themselves.
(Doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but this a MAJOR feat in our house).

Sunday morning Rob made blueberry waffles so we gave the girls some for breakfast. You can't really tell from this picture just how blue their mouths and hands were after the damage was done.
I had to google "how to get blueberry stains off skin"
and then rubbed down our little smurfs with hydrogen peroxide.

Updates

The girls are getting so big and doing so many new things I can't even keep up with them. I failed to post a couple weeks ago that they turned 10 months!

Let's see.. they are both still turbo crawling and climbing up on every piece of furniture we have. Had to disassemble and take down the wine rack and our bookshelf in the living area because the two little squirts were practicing their acrobatics on them. They are now standing on their own for a few seconds at a time and are getting so brave at trying to balance on their chubby little feet. I think they'll be taking thier first steps very soon. They both clap their hands and added a semi-word to their vocab -"Ahdugdug" which in Twins' speak means "doggie".

Here's a video I caught of Liv clapping:
And one of Caroline kind of doing "Sooooo Big!"

And here's Livi terrorizing her sister

We're working on sharing. They LOVE the TV remote.

they are NOT supposed to

"Whaaat??"

"Caroline did it, see!?"

Birthday Party at the Zoo

Yesterday we went to the Zoo to celebrate cousin James' 4th birthday! The girls had never been so it was exciting to take them around to all the exhibits, even though they didn't really look.

No we wouldn't dream of going anywhere without Liner's paci.

Weekend in Michigan

We spent a three day weekend in Michigan with Grandma & Grandpa. The girls had their first beach experience! They weren't quite sure what to do with the sand besides eat it.

Funny how in a room full of toys, the only "toys" they want
to play with are a water bottle and a baby puffs container.

And Caroline's trick again
Here's a video of Olivia throwing a temper tantrum because they didn't want to share... this is becoming a common thing these days. Ugh.
