Sunday Funday

We kept the weekend low-key, as most of our weekends go. Today we took the girls out to lunch at Wendy's (actually their first "restaurant" experience believe it or not!). They did great and gobbled up their chicken nuggets and chocolate milk like champs. Then we headed to Target for all the weekly necessities.

We head to TEXAS on Tuesday for my sister's wedding this coming weekend! Traveling with two toddlers will be less than ideal so wish us luck!

"Where's our food!?"

16 Months and 2 Days

The girls were 16 months on Monday. They are getting to be so much fun these days! They are seriously the funniest little people I know.
A few of their current antics:
They run from me when I get out diapers to change them, telling me "no, no, NO, mama!". They blow me kisses every morning before I leave for work, and Livi chases her sister around the house with her lips puckered saying "Mmmmmuaah!" (with what we call her "smooch attacks"). They could brush their teeth all.day.long if we let them, we have Dance Party USA sessions daily. They love learning new animal sounds and are really into making the "ROAR!" sound like a lion these days. They like to play hide and go seek, but they always hide in the same spot - behind our bedroom door - which tends to take away from the point of the game, but that's what makes it hilarious. Rob and I have to literally spell out the following words because if the girls hear any of them, they will not stop repeating it (over, and over, and over) until they get that particular thing: bath, juice, shoes, paci, blanket, snack, hat, keys, book.
We're enjoying discovering their little personalities. We love being their mommy & daddy!
All 3 of mama's babies
...and yes, they are wearing their Christmas jammies. These pipsqueaks haven't grown all that much since the Holidays!
Videos:
We're slowly but surely starting to get better with utensils.
It's still a complete MESS, but they're trying!
Peek a boo! Roooar!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I did a little Valentine's Day photo shoot with the twinks this morning.
Caroline is in the pants, and Liv in the dress.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Love XXOO,
Caroline & Olivia

*My friend, Neely, edited these first four for me. The rest below are straight from the camera - I don't know how to do all that fancy stuff!

NEW SHOES!!!

And after their lunch, the girls got a special Valentine's treat!

Too much TV

Ok, I swear we don't just sit our kids in front of the TV all day long. They really only watch their shows first thing in the morning and right before bed ... and since that's pretty much the only time I see them because I'm at work all day, most of the pictures/videos I get are of them watching TV!
These girls sure do love singing and dancing along to their shows. It's pretty stinkin' cute.
Here are the little couch potatoes in the making. See that mesmerized look on their faces!?
It sucks 'em right in.

I never seem to catch a good video of them dancing, it really is hilarious. But here's a small sampling of Liv getting down to Yo Gabba Gabba tonight.

Cardiology Update!

This week we had two appointments for the girls - one with the Pediatrician and one with the Cardiologist. The ped was just a follow up for their ear infections & bronchitis, which they are both in the clear of now. Except, we did discover their first allergy in the process. They had been taking Amoxicillin for the ear infections and developed a full body rash - so we're steering clear of that in the future.

As for the Cardiology visit - Liv had a follow up for her diagnosed PFO, and Caroline was seen for the first time due to her apparent murmur. Both girls had an EKG and then an Echocardiogram. These tests require the child to sit still long enough as to not elevate the heart rate for the duration of the test. Hmpf. Apparently 15-16 month olds are NOT the ideal patients for this type of exam. Liv took it like a champ, as she's a veteran to the heart check ups; but Caroline was Miss Difficult. It was her first time so she was totally freaked out. We had the full nursing staff in our room for the echo trying everything possible to keep her distracted/entertained - we all tried jumping around like bafoons, blowing bubbles, singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider, giving her cheerios, turned on a cartoon dvd - you name it, we tried it. But Caroline was NOT having it.

The Good News: Olivia's PFO has officially CLOSED!!!! Yay!

Both girls still have a slight murmur, which the doc referred to as a "functioning murmur" and said that many people live with this without even knowing it or affecting their lives. So no more holes in these babies' hearts! Beautiful, healthy hearts - just in time for Valentine's Day!

One pic I got with my camera phone at the ped's office. Their favorite thing is the sticks they get to play with there (tongue depressors).

And now a Caroline sequence (because Olivia was throwing a temper tantrum and just wasn't having the photo op.)

And no, we weren't going anywhere last night, but yes she needed her hat and shoes on.

Superbowl Sunday

We spent the afternoon at cousins' James & Katie's house. They had a good time playing!

So many things to climb on here!

Katie: "see, girls? watch this!"

Can you say, TWINS!?

And when we got home it was Superbowl time! Yes, we know it was the Colts vs. the Saints, but the girls wanted to represent their daddy's team anyways.

Diaper Wrasslin'

Here's a glimpse at what it's like trying to get two toddlers diapered after baths.... mind you - a diaper is just the first step. Then try getting them to hold still for lotion, pj's and combing their hair. ha! It's a two person job, really.

Weekly Grocery Store Outing

Nothing too exciting to report as for weekend activities. I snapped a few pictures while we took the girls to the grocery store yesterday. Fun stuff, huh.
I'm looking in to enrolling the girls in a toddler music class on Saturdays. These poor kids need some excitement in their lives!
