Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone has a Spook-tacular Halloween!
Love,
Caroline & Olivia

Our little Monsters.
O in purple shirt, C in black shirt.

And do you remember this? Here's the girls on Halloween LAST year in the NICU. Caroline on the left was still only 4lbs, and Olivia was barely over 5lbs. What a difference a year makes!

Nope, I didn't dress the kids up in costumes for Halloween. *GASP* I know, bad mommy. It was too cold to go out, they don't need any candy, and I certainly don't need to be eating their candy.... so we stayed in. We enjoyed some Halloween cartoons and let the girls stay up a little later than usual. We have many many more years to go trick or treating.

Cartoons!!!

This is too cute not to share. Here's my Aunt Eva's dog, Winston. Love it! This totally inspired me to dress up Charlie next year, against his will, I'm sure. =)

And as always, if one is seen with a toy, the other MUST have it.

Caroline's First Steps!

Caroline took her very first steps today! You can tell she's almost there to full out walking, and she wants to so badly! She was getting brave tonight and doing so well, but of course the second I think to grab my camera she only took about 1.5 steps.

Peek a Boo with the curtains is always fun...

Saturday afternoon, Grandma & Grandpa Krupa came over to babysit the girls so Rob and I could go to a friend's wedding. They brought the girls some Halloween goodies - Thank you Mama Diane & Papa Bede!

SUNDAY FUNDAY!
It was a gorgeous day so we got the girls out of the house for some errands and time at the park.

Getting ready to go - Can't forget the Sippies!

At the grocery store.

Pretty Fall day out at the park near our house.
I tried to get some cute shots of the girls, but getting two toddlers to look in the same direction, much less smile while doing so, is nearly impossible. So enjoy all of these out-takes.

Dress-up with Daddy

I heard giggling coming from the girls' room the other evening, and when I poked my head in the door this is what I saw.

I've gotta find a new place to store their bibs, hats and gloves. Now that they've discovered these easily accessible baskets on their shelves, all they want to do is pull everything out!

Bye-Bye to Ba-Ba's!

The day after the girls' birthday, I made the bold decision to pack up and put away ALL the bottles and bottle accessories. Cold turkey. We were already down to two - one in the morning, and one before bed - and were doing sippies all throughout the day. So I figured, why not!? They have not had a ba-ba in 6 days now, and they're doing really well with the transition. We've also stopped giving them formula and have been giving them whole milk in their sippies, which doesn't seem to phase them one bit. YAY for more counterspace (no more bottle washing supplies) & YAY for a MAJOR cut on costs (no more $25 per cans of formula)!

So this is part of our bedtime routine now...

Messy Babies

And how do you know when your toddler is finished eating their dinner??

Awwee, they love their puppy dog.

Sisterly Love... well, kinda.

Trip to the Pumpkin Patch... well, Pumpkin Lot

You won't find a real pumpkin patch living in downtown Chicago, so we did the next best thing. An empty lot down the street from us is currently inhabited by some people selling pumpkins for the Holiday. So don't mind the trailer and port-o-potty in the background of our "pumpkin patch" pictures!

We wheeled the girls down in their new wagon to pick out some pumpkins for our balcony. They had fun!

And then back at the homestead.

They LOVE brushing their teeth now.
