First Playground Trip of the Year!

The temps are just now starting to be bearable here in Chicago.  The girls were beyond excited when we stopped at the playground yesterday after picking them up from school!

Grandma Karen & Aunt Nee Nee's Visit

My mom and sister came to visit us a couple weeks ago to get some C & O time.  It was so nice to have them here for a few days (and so nice to have help!). 

Grandma Karen brought enough arts & crafts to keep them busy for months!  They were so into their projects - we made baby chicks and bunnies, and caterpillars and pipe cleaner flowers, and painted pictures and played with stickers.

And one morning we took the girls for their very first mani-pedi.  heehee.  It was beyond adorable because my girls are SOOOO girly it's not even funny.  I thought they'd be all about it and jump right in, but it took some coaxing.  Caroline dipped her feet in the bubbles, but quickly became freaked out when she saw that Livi wouldn't even take her shoes off for the pedicure.  We were trying to explain to Olivia that it was just like getting a bath for your feet... and she yelled, "NO!  I take my bath at HOME!"  She didn't want any part of that.  ... so we went straight to manicures, which worked out well.

This little girl place was so cute, they had a catwalk and everything!  The girls strutted their stuff.  

We mostly just hung out and acted silly.  It was good girl time.

The girls thought it was hilarious when daddy jumped into the tub with his undies on.

First Dentist Appointment!

We took the girls to their very first dentist appointment this morning.  We've been talking it up to them for several weeks now, since I was dreading that they would completely freak out.  So every morning for the past couple weeks, they'd wake up and say, "I go dentist now!!??!"  heehee. 

So finally, the day was upon us and they were a bit unsure walking in...

... that is until they saw how completely AWESOME this dentist office was!  It was like a little kid's playland DREAM!  The whole waiting area was filled with toys and dollies and a play kitchen and grocery carts and trinkets and stickers and Dora the Explorer playing on the flat screens... wheewww.  Needless to say, the girls warmed right up to the joint.

I thought this was the cutest way to display childrens' art.  I'll have to remember this for when we have a house and a playroom - I had Rob take mental notes so he could make this for me.

Olivia went first because,... well because Caroline insisted, "No!  Sissy First!!!"  Liv was being shy and was pretty hesitant when we had to sit in the chair.  She was a trooper, but was scared so I ended up having to hold her the whole time. 

But Caroline surprised the heck out of me!  She was so excited for her turn and cooperated with the dentist so well!  She sat on her own like a big girl and kept her mouth open on command.  She loved it!  And they both couldn't wait to get to school this morning to tell their teachers and all their friends.

Morning Cuties

 Every morning the girls love to sit in my bathroom while I get ready for work.  They'll play in my makeup, or pretend to blowdry their hair, or if I'm lucky - will find a way to entertain themselves.
